(Archived) Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Job Description
-Under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and the Pharmacy Operations Managers, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will help oversee clinical pharmacy activities for the hospital.
-Demonstrates knowledge and skills in clinical activities including but not limited to pharmacokinetic dosing, TPN dosing, medication use evaluations, adverse drug reaction programs, antibiotic utilization, formulary monographs.
-Performs necessary duties for P&T Committee.
-Facilitates dispersing of clinical information to staff pharmacists (i.e. formulary updates, P&T updates, MBO Communication, etc.).
-Assists in developing the clinical skills of other pharmacists/residents. Assists in orientation of new pharmacists, pharmacy residents or pharmacy students.
-Directs, coordinates and performs in-services for pharmacy staff, physicians, and other health care professionals on a regular basis. Assist in coord CE programs and competencies for staff.
-Coordinates the residency program including but not limited to: scheduling, achieving and maintaining ASHP accreditation standards, recruiting future residents, precepting residents, providing and overseeing preceptor development
-Leads, supports, and participates in pharmacy student programs.
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree; an active Florida Pharmacist license; 3+ years of acute care clinical pharmacy hospital experience; strong organizational, communication and motivational skills.
PGY1 Residency and one to three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
